IPL PHOTOREJUVENATION

IPL Photorejuvenation or photo facial, as it is commonly called, is a non-invasive procedure that uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) to erase signs of aging from the face, neck, chest, arms, hands, and other areas. The laser is very gentle and safe, and does not require any downtime.

IPL Photorejuvenation treats a wide variety of skin problems to suit your needs and has long-lasting results. Among these are facial capillaries, fine lines, rosacea, pigment discoloration, (such as melasma, age and sun spots), uneven skin color, redness of the neck and general sun damage.

Before treatment, a cool gel is applied to the area to be treated. You will be provided with goggles to wear to shield your eyes from the bright light projected from the IPL hand piece. During treatment, the smooth glass surface of the IPL hand piece is gently applied to your skin and delivers pulses of light. There are filters in the hand piece that can change the wavelength range allowing it to be optimized for different applications and skin types. The light penetrates the tissue and is absorbed by either the blood when treating vascular lesions or the melanin when treating pigmented lesions. The body’s natural process then sloughs away the targeted tissue, giving the skin a more even and youthful appearance.

Most clients feel little pain during treatment. However, a numbing cream can be administered if the procedure becomes uncomfortable. After the procedure, redness or blotchiness may be present on the treated area which typically lasts from 45 minutes to a few hours. You will be able to see a change in the complexion and skin texture at the completion of each treatment. With the use of sun blocks, you can return to normal activities.
